Wondrous Clean Tongue Wand Review
What is the Wondrous Tongue Cleaning Wand?
Bad breath is a taboo subject that we all feel awkward talking about, but the truth is that if you are a healthy person, maintaining fresh should be relatively easy. Despite numerous studies linking bad breath to the tongue, many of us are still neglecting to give this wonderful organ the care it deserves! About 80% of bad breath originates from the bacteria that collects in the nooks and crannies of the tongue surface. Breath mints only mask the problem, and some mouthwashes can dry out your mouth and make the problem even worse! So put down the breath mints and tackle the root of the problem by cleaning away the smelly coating from your tongue surface.
A product designed for just that purpose is the Wondrous Clean Tongue Wand. Wondrous is the new kid on the block when it comes to tongue cleaners, and they have entered the market with some fresh ideas and a product that ticks every box.

Is it magic?
Wondrous have put a lot of effort into this product, not just regarding design, but also in terms of creating something that is socially and environmentally friendly. You can rest assured that this isn’t a tongue scraper that has been mass produced from the cheapest ingredients to maximize profits. Wondrous calls this the “Greener cleaner” and we like that!
If you are going to put something in your mouth, twice a day, every single day, you want an assurance that the materials it’s made from are safe, and Wondrous have done just that! Wondrous manufacture their Cleaning wand from a 100% recyclable, non-toxic polymer material with a food-grade colorant. NCW magazine awarded Wondrous the Eco-Excellence Jury’s Pick Award in 2018 for their commitment to producing socially responsible products.
From a practical viewpoint, we like the small head, it lets you get the cleaner right to the back of your mouth, and that is where the tongue needs cleaning the most. Also, If you have ever tried a tongue cleaner made of copper or stainless steel, you may have found that the sensation of placing a heavy metal on your tongue is not altogether pleasant! The Wondrous cleaner, on the other hand, feels very gentle and natural.
We love this little tongue cleaner; it’s beautifully simple, it feels great, it’s clean, it’s green, what more could you ask!
The Inside Story
We spoke to Lori Townsend, the driving force behind the Wondrous Clean Tongue Wand, to ask her more about her product and what inspired her to create it. Here is what Lori had to say –
I’ve been passionate about oral care for the last 15 years – and cancer runs in my family, so I’ve always searched for clean ingredient products.
When I couldn’t find the tongue cleaner of my dreams, I decided to bring one to market, consciously made in the USA, from industry-leading non-toxic ingredients. We call it the “greener tongue cleaner”. We partnered with a dental consultant and hygienist to help develop the Wondrous Clean Tongue Wand.
It is designed to work for mouths of all sizes (including smaller mouths, which don’t get enough love) as well as those that prefer more control. Our micro-grooves provide a massaging, deep clean in-between the bumps and crevices of the tongue, removing bacteria and debris that cause bad breath.
Not only do we source the safest ingredients, but our wand is also 100% recyclable, dishwasher safe, and durable enough to last for years. Our customers love to use the reusable food grade storage case for travel; they pop their toothbrush in & go! To my knowledge, we are the first to use a European food grade colorant in a non-toxic polymer product! I’ve even had a major toothbrush manufacturer ask me about it! So our goal is to change the industry, and the world, one mouth at a time.
